A nutrient management plan is simply a way of ordering information about the efficiency of water and nutrient applications to the plants in your growing operation. The reason for having a nutrient management plan is to demonstrate that you are efficient, and that your operation poses a low risk for nutrients running off into nearby streams and rivers.

The documents on this webpage contain complete information about water and nutrient management plan requirements for nursery field (in-ground) operations. There is also an explanation of how to go about writing a modified (soil-based) nutrient management for your operation.
