The Regulations and Compliance
MCE Logo

This webpage contains updated (December 2005) copies of all the Maryland Department of Agriculture Regulations that were written to comply with the Water Quality Improvement Act of 1998. They have been divided up into various sections for easy access (e.g. General plan requirements, General plan content and criteria, Cost-share etc.)

Since not all of the regulations apply to nursery or greenhouse operations, you might like to jump to the out-of-ground webpage (applicable to container nursery, pot-in-pot and greenhouse operations) or to the in-ground webpage(for field-grown stock), for more specific details of what has to be included in your plan. The documents on the out-of-ground and in-ground webpages contain specific information about water and nutrient management requirements for nursery and greenhouse operations, including a sample plan for each type of operation (in pdf format). These can be used as templates for your operation.

You can also download the new Nutrient Management Annual Implementation Report Form using the Pull-down menu below.
Please note that this file is 777 KB, so it may take a few minutes to download over a 56K modem.
